NATURE AND TOURISM
The volcanic mountain ridge Burda is part of the National Reservation Burdov. The highest peak of the mountain is Burda – 387.7 meters above sea. There are two national nature reservations in this area: Kováčské hills-south and Kováčovské hills-north. There are many rare plant species of Pannonian flora that occur only here. They have the most northern border of enlargement in Slovakia (eg the Taurus ibis). There are interesting bralate formations, rock walls and towers.
Three marked tourist trails:
- Red-marked from the village of Kamenica nad Hronom through the southern slopes of the Kováčovské hills National Nature Reserve to the Kováčov railway station
- The longest blue-marked from Kováčov settlement, the border of the village of Chľaba, through the Great Valley, under the Králova hora (373.5 m above sea) and connects to the red-marked sidewalk
- The yellow-marked hiking trail is a short link from the Kováčov railway station to the Kováčov recreation settlement

CITIES AND VILLAGES AROUND
Štúrovo (SK) – 10 km
The town of Štúrovo is located in the southeastern part of district Nové Zámky. The most visited places in the city are:
- Vadaš Thermal Resort Štúrovo, which has open gates for water lovers every year from the end of April to September
- The Maria Valérie Bridge, originally built in 1895, subsequently destroyed and repaired in 1914 and 1944
- In the pedestrian zone is also the City Gallery and Museum
Esztergom (HU) – 13,5 km
This city lies along the river Danube on the border with Slovakia at the foot of the Pilis Mountains. The most visited places in the city are:
- Cathedral of Our Lady and Saint Vojtech (1822 – 1856)
- Bakócz’s Chapel (Renaissance chapel from 1506 to 1507)A large old art gallery that contains sacred monuments mostly from the territory of today’s Slovakia
- A library with many ancient codes, incarnations and unique books (about 40,000 volumes)
- Archives mostly with materials for the history of Slovakia
- Museum with numismatic collection
Château Béla (SK) –22 km
Historical manor in the small village of Belá in southern Slovakia offers you the opportunity to taste the excellent wines of this region in a magical environment of a Château.
Visegrád (HU) – 36 km
Visegrád is a small ancient town in the north of Hungary in the bend of the Danube where a 4th century castle is on the rock. The castle and the city are popular tourist destinations with various attractions for children (horse riding, bobsled track, archery, etc.).
